Safe Sports Week Info

Youth Sports Safety Week
Making sure our young athletes are safe is important. Safe Sports will be drawing attention to this issue during this November’s Youth Sports Safety Week. Several events are planned for the Week.  Preregistration is required for all events. Please visit www.safesportsnetwork.org or call 603-627-9728.

Safe Sports Network is a nonprofit program. All services to athletes are free.

CPR/AED course for coaches will be held on Tuesday, November 15. This class will be taught by sports medicine experts who will tailor the content to make it extremely pertinent for coaches. (5-7 pm, Manchester West High School Library, sign up online.)

Sports physicals are available for student-athletes grades 6-12 all week.  These physicals are intended specifically to clear students for sports participation. They use special history questions and screenings that can identify risk factors for young athletes. (Call to sign up, 603-627-8053.)

Concussion Testing will be offered for athletes age 10-18 on Saturday, November 18. The testing will take place from 10am to 2pm at the Safe Sports Network Drop-in Clinic at 35 Kosciuszko St., Manchester.

Safe Sports Network’s injury drop-in clinic and other sports safety services are available throughout the year.
